This Too Shall Pass

This Too Shall Pass

I’m really struggling at the moment with this sleeping thing. My 6 month old  and I are having differences of opinion on what times she should sleep, how long, or even if she should sleep at all.

It really does my head in. I’ve done this before. I’m a practiced professional! Just watch for tired signs, swaddle them up tight, stick in a pacifier and help them learn to self-settle. It’s worked well twice before, it should again right?

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!

So you have tried a dairy free diet for two weeks and determined it made a difference for your baby. Now you are facing a commitment to go dairy-free longer term. Going DF is not all that hard. All you have to do is remove all dairy from your diet. It is that simple, right? Yes and No.

Going Dairy-Free (DF) – Part Two:My Dairy-free Journey

Going Dairy-Free (DF) – Part Two: My Dairy-free Journey

The day my fourth child was born, I took a long swig of my milky tea, swirled it around in my mouth, savored it and then tipped the rest out. Three of my four children had so far been intolerant to dairy and it was a fair bet that my new daughter would be too.

Going Dairy-Free (DF) – Part One: The Essentials

If you are at your wits end with a breastfed baby that is uncomfortable and gassy, fussy, has reflux or spills excessively, there is a good chance that cutting dairy from your diet may help reduce your baby’s discomfort.  Does the thought frighten you? I want to let you know that going dairy-free can actually be quite simple, you don’t need to miss out on the food comforts you rely on, and that the improvements may very well be worth the effort.

Why We Should All Just Lose The Mummy Guilt

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how much mummy guilt there is out there. So many different opinions on what to do or what not to do. Every time you turn around, there will be someone criticizing the choices you have made, or showing you something you could be doing better. Sure they may have a wonderful idea, and ideally everyone would do it, but there is so much pressure (often self inflicted) to do everything.

These people on the internet saying you should do things this way or not this way, will have made their own mistakes or done things they are not proud of.  They just don't tell you about them and they certainly don't put that on Pinterest.
